Managing Authority (MA)

The Partner States have appointed the Land of Salzburg, represented by the Department for economy, tourism and communities, Sub-department regional develoment and EU regional policy  to act as Managing Authority (MA). The MA bears the overall responsibility for managing and implementing the Cooperation Programme and acts as an interface between the European Commission and the participating states and regions.

On the basis of Salzburg’s experience as managing authority of the Alpine Space programme the European Commission has entrusted the Land of Salzburg to administer the Alpine Region Preparatory Action Fund.
This fund shall provide support for the implementation of the macroregional strategy for the Alpine Region - EUSALP.
