6th International Symposium for Research in Protected Areas
National Parks Austria and Hohe Tauern National Park are organising the International Symposium for Research in Protected Areas at the Faculty of Natural Sciences, University of Salzburg on 2 and 3 November 2017.
The sixth edition of international conference – held every four years since 1996 – will cover concepts and research on wilderness, biodiversity, species protection, ecology and the function of running waters, the effects of climate change and the role of long-term monitoring. In addition, issues of applied conservation research, protected area management and sustainable development will be debated. The symposium provides a perfect opportunity for encounters across disciplinary and protected area boundaries, where participants can share and exchange views and findings and intensify the dialogue between researchers and practitioners.
Conference language will be English and all contributions will be published in a conference volume.
