EU Sustainable Energy Week
The EU Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) showcases activities dedicated to energy efficiency and renewable energy solutions. It is designed to spread best practices, inspire new ideas and build alliances to help meet the EU’s energy and climate goals.
This year's edition will focus on the role of responsible consumers in the new Energy Union and in driving the EU towards its sustainable energy goals in areas such as energy efficiency, renewables or greenhouse gas emissions.
The event consists in a number of different kinds of events, which can be divided into three types:
- The EUSEW Policy Conference from 16-18 June, gathering thousands of energy experts, policy-makers, representatives of civil society, and the media – from the EU and beyond – to debate secure, clean and efficient energy.
- The EUSEW Awards Competition is an opportunity for nominees to showcase their projects and activities in three categories – renewable energy, energy efficiency and cities, communities and regions – as innovation leaders and role models in sustainable energy.
- The Energy Days will promote secure, clean and efficient energy across Europe during the month of June. This is an opportunity for private companies, NGOs, cooperatives, industry and consumer organisations, research and technology centres and energy agencies, among others, to put on a wide variety of activities – such as workshops, presentations, exhibitions, concerts, quizzes or games – in any EU Member State or country with an Association Agreement with Horizon 2020.
