Alpine Space Expert Workshop scheduled to take place 4-5 May 2010 in Interlaken, Switzerland
“Coping with Climate Change - Transnational Action in the Alps”
The Alps are much earlier and more strongly affected by climate change than other regions in Europe. Coping with the various effects of climate change is a key challenge for the Alpine Space. Joint efforts and cooperation are indispensible to adapt and to mitigate impacts and which calls for a dynamic exchange between all the on-going projects in the Alpine Space.
The workshop organised by the Alpine Space Programme will bring together experts – practitioners, policy makers and scientist - in the field. They will analyse the state of achievements, to identify gaps and scope for improvements to support mitigation and adaptation measures in the Alpine Space. Potential new project ideas for the Alpine Space Programme will be identified as well as opportunities for further capitalisation and synergy building between existing initiatives. More information on this exclusive workshop (on invitation) will be available on this website shortly.
