The project aims to strengthen SME along the food value chain creating new business opportunities in the field of bioeconomy. Thereby, the project is building a Transnational Alpine Network with our project partners and actors along the food value chain. Through the approach of `Open Innovation´, the Transnational Alpine Network develops new business innovation opportunities, and it shows these opportunities to SME & food initiatives in the alpine space. With the advanced knowledge of new business models in the field of bioeconomy, the project fosters the sustainability of local economy of SME in alpine space.
Description of activities
-1.Identification of the Food Value Chains of alpine food & botanical extracts: Typical food & botanical extracts of each alpine region (e.g., crops, vegetables, herbs and spices) are identified by the knowledge of our project partners and by former EU projects. -2.Screening of Food Value Chains: The Food Value Chains of the in Objective1 identified food &botanical extract are analysed for their potential in the field of bioeconomy. -3.Creation of Business Models: Within the results of Objective 2, we develop new business models using creativity & innovation methods. In doing so, the project provides business opportunities for SME in the alpine region, which are tested locally in a pilot phase in 2-3 alpine regions.
Building a Transnational Alpine Network: The project creates a Transnational Alpine Network of project partners and actors along the food value chain with respect to bioeconomy, such as local growers and producers, institutions of food services and consumers, and from different alpine regions. Within the project, we intend to build up a transnational cluster cooperation. Promotion of Local Growth and Conservation of Regional Structures: The project fosters the sustainability of local economy of SME in the alpine space with the advanced knowledge of new business models in the field of bioeconomy. Thus, it enables the conservation of regional alpine structures.
