Main objectives
The purpose of the project is to increase options for low carbon smart mobility and transport in the urban areas, by using new technologies. The project aims to improve a smart management of the principal road and parking system, with regard for the commercial areas of medium-sized municipalities, that, for the location and for the equipment, act as a framework for a bigger catchment area. In fact in these areas has not yet been identified a good transport management, particularly for the intermodal transport policy. Even the sustainable mobility system and the use of new technologies for the management and the regulation of historic city-center’s access are really inadequate, and this is due to a low level of information and awareness among the residents.
Description of activities
The project provides the creation of high-tech solutions and integrate monitoring for access within natural commercial areas, main roads,available rest areas/parking lots, sustainable mobility services;it will be done through a friendly user interface that will give back real-time data.It will allow to improve the performance of the mobility system, by reducing congestions and pollution emission; besides it will allow a more efficient and integrated use of public services and other alternative mobility by the population,conditioning progressively their behavior. It’s also expected a planning activity for the optimization of the reserved parking areas,combined with the enhancement of pedestrian areas,as well as testing of innovative ancillary services and awareness to low carbon life styles
Envisaged outcomes
• Creation of a new cooperation area and a international stakeholders network • Analysis of the areas concerned in the sustainable mobility. • Realization of an App for monitoring and mobility management • Development and testing Plans of sustainable and smart mobility in the natural commercial areas. • Improving the local and regional politics to reduce the CO2 emissions and promote the rural and urban areas. • Pilot actions
