Goûter au Château: grains and breads at Sarriod Castle
Bread has always had a special status in human nutrition in Europe and in Aosta Valley even more, because making it used to involve the whole community. A lot has happened since the time of hard rye bread and now other cereals like corn and wheat are grown in this region, too.
On August 17th and 18th, Goûter au Château lets you explore these mountain cereals at the Castle of Sarriod De La Tour. A whole calendar of events awaits children and grown ups, including an etnographic exhibition, old farming tools, a theatre show, meetings, bread baking labs and, of course, a chance to enjoy the traditional food of Aosta Valley.
