SUPREME BUILDING AUTHORITY PART OF THE BAVARIAN STATE MINISTRY OF THE INTERIOR, BUILDING AND TRANSPORT (OBB)
OBB is responsible for passenger & freight transport and traffic issues in Bavaria. OBB brings its experiences, competences, networks and its key role as political decision maker in this field to the project. OBB is one of 2 big parts of the Bavarian State Ministry of the Interior, for Building and Transport, which among other things handles tasks in the transport sector in Bavaria e.g. railway transport and implementation of infrastructure projects. OBB is contact partner for the road and rail freight and logistics industry, (e.g. LOHR Industrie, France strongly supports AlpInnoCT as observer). OBB promotes CT, development of freight terminals, development of innovative transport concepts as well as use of new transport technologies.
REGIONAL UNION OF THE CHAMBERS OF COMMERCE OF VENETO - EUROSPORTELLO (UCV)
UCV represents the five Chambers of Commerce of Veneto and hosts Eurosportello del Veneto, an information and assistance office for the business. Eurosportello del Veneto is a partner and local coordinator of the Enterprise Europe Network, the world largest business support network. The main tasks of UCV include the design and implementation of activities in strict coordination with regional and local institutions, business associations, research centres and universities, in favour of economic development, SMEs. UCV has an efficient enterprise database through which it is able to identify and manage relationships with entrepreneurs. UCV has direct contacts with companies, transport service providers and relevant political decision makers.
BAYERNHAFEN GMBH & CO. KG (BHG)
With BHG as provider of logistics infrastructure for CT and expert for transshipment technologies, the integration of experiences in transalpine railway transport and the knowledge of intermodal transshipment terminal is guaranteed. With six bavarian locations in Aschaffenburg, Bamberg, Nuremberg, Roth, Regensburg and Passau, BHG refers to a large terminal experience by transporting goods by ship, rail and truck. BHG provides a broad portfolio of services around the rail transport like "last mile-traffic", location architecture around CT and connection to terminals. BHG acts as site architect, who develops company and location strategies, invests in infrastructure and works in close cooperation with economical and political decision makers.
EBERL INTERNATIONAL FORWARDING AGENCY GMBH & CO. KG (EBERL)
Eberl as a worlwide operating forwarding agency and logistics services provider integrates extensive knowhow regarding logistics processes and the market & customer requirements especially on the pilot corridors. To have a broader view and use the expertise of forwarding agencies in other alpine countries, Eberl represents also freight forwarders and transport companies from his extensive network (from alpine countries). Many of these network partners have a function as representative of regional or national associations, chambers etc.
TX LOGISTIK AG (TX)
TX as “European rail company” with alpine crossing experiences in railway transport, is interface between customer and railway transportation, integrates intermodal CT and non-craneable trailer knowhow. As international logistics provider TX is not exclusively haulier for rail freight, but is also an important CT-player with integrated concepts. The experience in the rail freight transport is a basis for project decisions. Considering actual traffics and strong activities over the Brenner, the
competences of TX are important for the project. TX is not only railway undertaking but is also operator with own risk of utilisation and provider of pre- and oncarriage by truck for maritime hinterland transport to the seaports.
REGIONAL GOVERNMENT OF CARINTHIA (AKL)
AKL has a special strategic position in Europe. Above all, the transshipment terminal in Villach-Fürnitz represents a crossroad between the northern and southern ports in Europe. Due to the participation in European projects, AKL developed a high level of logistics expertise. AKL is the official competence center for logistic in Carinthia and is responsible for the development of the location ALPLOG Carinthia, which is a logistic center in Villach-Fürnitz situated between the intersection of Brenner Axis and Tauern Axis, and for the whole strategic logistic development in Carinthia.
AUSTRIAN FEDERAL MINISTRY FOR TRANSPORT, INNOVATION AND TECHNOLOGY (BMVIT)
BMVIT will be represented by its department I/K4 (responsible for CT) & deals with the shift of goods transport from the road to more environmental friendly modes like rail. As one of several coordination departments in the EU- & international affairs division, the department I/K4 possesses longtime experience in political framework conditions for the support of CT on national & international level, based on in-depth analysis of goods transport in general and innovative aspects of CT in particular. It brings its comprehensive experiences, competences & role as decision maker in this field to the project. BMVIT is well connected to the transport sector and can also use its network and contacts to spread the innovative results of the project.
CIPRA INTERNATIONAL LAB GMBH (CIPRA Lab)
CIPRA Lab is the project development branch of CIPRA International, a NGO (100 member organizations) committed to the protection and sustainable development of the Alps. It is a transfer organization experienced in networking people, communication, knowledge transfer, participation and dissemination to stakeholders and politics. The problems of transalpine freight transport accompanies CIPRA since decades. With its project development branch CIPRA Lab’s role in the AlpInnoCT project is to co-organize and facilitate solution-oriented Dialogue Events/Platform and compile findings in a “Toolbox of Action”. They are observer in the WG Transport of the Alpine Convention and contribute to the EUSALP Action Groups.
TRIESTE PORT AUTHORITY (TPA)
Located in the heart of Europe, at the intersection between shipping routes and the Baltic-Adriatic and Mediterranean TEN-T core network corridors, the Port of Trieste (TPA) is an international hub for overland and sea trade with the dynamic market of Central and Eastern Europe. TPA has an internal rail network that is connected to the national and international railway network. TPA has the primary task of directing, planning, coordinating, promoting and controlling port operations and other commercial and industrial activities in the port. The Port of Trieste will bring experience and expertise on all relevant issues related to port handling and hinterland transport in intermodal transport.
AUTONOMOUS REGION OF FRIULI VENEZIA GIULIA (FVG)
FVG Region retains a strategic role to promote the transport of freight and passengers through the development of unified models of sustainable mobility and integrated transport,systems. In particular, the mobility division deals with management of ports and hinterlands, promoting a more sustainable and efficient freight transport and enhancing the logistics and the intermodal connections. During the two recent meetings between the regional governors of Bavaria and FVG it has been formulated a common strategy for cooperating to improve competitiveness through a better use of the Port of Trieste by the industrial contexts of Bavaria, which also shows perfect connections to politics and big policy addressing capacity.
CONSORZIO ZAI INTERPORTO QUADRANTE EUROPA (ZAI)
ZAI acts as an intersection of transnational (alpine crossing) CT, it interconnects various types of transport on road and rail and will integrate transshipment terminal knowhow into AlpInnoCT.
As institutional arrangements on a territorial basis ZAI has the task of urban planning and driving the global development of the region and the economy with logistical knowhow as a freight center in the field of freight traffic in the trimodal transport. Quadrante Europa is Italian leader in terms of combined goods traffic volumes and recognized as a leading freight terminal in Europe with a very good connection to relevant policy levels.
EUROPEAN ACADEMY OF BOLZANO (EURAC)
Transport and mobility issues are one of the main research pillars of EURAC. The participation as scientific partner in several AS projects dealing with freight transport (monitraf, iMonitraf!, TRANSITECTS) grants an adequate knowledge about the issues and the solutions at alpine level. EURAC as permanent partner of iMonitraf! is interface to the iMonitraf! network. EURAC cooperates with relevant international bodies, such as the Alpine Convention & the Carpathian Convention. Its well-established relationships with the Italian Ministry of the Environment, Land & Sea, and the freight department of the Autonomous Province of Bolzano (confirmed observer in AlpInnoCT) grant a privileged connection with national & local political levels.
UNIVERSITY OF MARIBOR - FACULTY OF CIVIL ENGINEERING, TRANSPORTATION ENGINEERING AND ARCHITECTURE (UM)
UM provides education & performs research in the fields of Civil Engineering, Transport Engineering and Architecture. The Faculty and in particular the Transport Economics Centre conducts international, national & regional scientific and R&D projects and carries out studies, expert opinions for different institutions, enterprises & other clients. UM is directly or indirectly involved in the preparation of documents & plans resulting in acts, strategies, regulations, policies on a regional and national level.
INSTITUTE OF TRAFFIC AND TRANSPORT LJUBLJANA L.L.C. (ITTL)
ITTL is an internationally active transport research organization specialized in the fields of Transport economics, Traffic technology, Civil engineering, IT, Railway infrastructure and Legislation. ITTL is on the UIC recommendation list of R&D organizations, cooperates with SIST, CEN, CENELEC. ITTL (founded by Slovenian railways) has close relations with Ministry of Transport (MzI) with ability to consult & influence policy decisions on national level. MzI supports ITTL activities and AlpInnoCT project aims of reducing road freight cargo that are in line with its policy, thus MzI supports AlpInnoCT & welcomes the opportunities for exchanging good experiences and new modal-shift solutions for the implementation on national policy level.
ALPINE INITIATIVE (AI)
AI is an association advocating the transfer of alpine crossing road freight to rail. In 1989, the association launched a popular initiative which was accepted in 1994 by a majority of both the Swiss population and the cantons. This popular initiative forms the foundation of Swiss transport policy. Since the adoption of the constitutional article the Alpine Initiative has been active on both Swiss and European levels in order to assure and advocate the implementation of the initiative. The association has built up an extensive knowledge, network and experience on freight and modal shift policies. These resources will be used in the project to provide the civil society view, mainly in the organisation of corridor events and the platforms.
