PARCO DELL’ADAMELLO

Website: www.parcoadamello.it

The Parco dell’Adamello is at the heart of the Alps, in the Rhaetian Alps, and includes the whole Lombardy side of the Adamello massif situated in the north-east of the province of Brescia, to the west its boundary is just above the left bank of  the River Oglio, the fifth longest Italian river. The altitude difference of over 3,000 meters between the highest and lowest points of the Parco dell’Adamello (ranging from 390 to 3539 meters above sea level) generates considerable climatic variations, which, together with the lithological diversification, influence the structure, composition and distribution of all the Park ecosystems.

IMPLEMENTATION OF THE ALPINE SCHOOL MODEL

Most environmental education projects conducted in collaboration with the three local centers of the Park (sited in Vezza d’Oglio, Paspardo e Cevo) and involving schools from the whole Lombardia: most activities involve wild fauna, aquatic environments, orienteering, forest management, and cultural heritage of the territory and so on.
