Project idea owners who submitted a project idea before mid January 2008 are warmly invited to submit their idea with the new submission tool in order to publish it in the project ideas database.

Description:
Certalp project wants to establish a process of evaluation and communication of environment sustainability. This process should stimulate mountain communities' volountary improvement of advance sustainability solutions, as to increase territory appeal and competitiveness.
Main objectives:
The main objective of the project is to establish evaluation standards for mountains lands and communities which includes waters, tourism structures, energy efficiency, forest, green spaces and land management drawing from EC directives, regional and local best practices. Once evalution standards has been prepared, we propose the creation of a regional quality trademark named “Alpine Space – Red/Brown Flag” with one international board, one national board with the countries invoved and one regional board for each region involved.
Envisaged outcomes:

- Certification protocol
- Management manual
- Creation of a regional quality trademark "Alpine Space-Red, Brown flag"
- Training and seminars addressed to local and regional authorities in order to understand the evaluation standards
