Low Carbon

Out of the 32 projects proposals in the third call step 2, 16 projects were selected for co-financing. This means that 16 project teams are now kicking off their activities, on topics ranging from bio-based economy, to dual education, sustainable use of biomass, or active and healthy ageing.

The projects approved in the third call for project proposals are:


Priority 1: Innovative Alpine Space


Specific objective 1: Improve the framework conditions for innovation in the Alpine Space

Priority 2: Low carbon Alpine Space


Specific objective 1 – Establish transnationally integrated low carbon policy instruments



Specific objective 2 – Increase options for low carbon mobility and transport



Priority 3: Liveable Alpine Space


Specific objective 1 – Sustainably valorise Alpine Space cultural and natural heritage



Specific objective 2 – Enhance the protection, the conservation and the ecological connectivity of Alpine Space ecosystems

Priority 4: Well-governed Alpine Space


Objective – Increase the application of multilevel and transnational governance in the Alpine Space

The fourth call for project proposals will open in September!

New opportunities for cooperation are coming up soon with the opening of the next call for project proposals in September. 

The step 1 (submission period for expressions of interest) will be open until 12 December 2018.

PEACE_Alps won the EUSEW award 2018!

The Alpine Space project PEACE_Alps just won the EU Sustainable Energy Week 2018 Award in the public-sector category!


Project lead partners Silvio De Nigris and Barbara Girardi from Regione Piemonte were on stage on 5 June in the Charlemagne Building in Brussels, to receive the award from the hands of Miguel Arias Cañete, Commissioner for Climate Action and Energy. Silvio de Nigris thanked the project partnership: "Behind a cooperation project there are people. We can reduce carbon footprint by working with people who are determined to make change happen".
