On 15 and 16 November, AlpFoodway was presented at the 12th conference of the European Institute for the History and Cultures of Food (IEHCA) in Tours (France). The conference “Food as a cultural heritage: Challenges, processes and perspective” brings together scientists from different fields of science to delve into food as a cultural heritage according to the UNESCO Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Heritage. Špela Ledinek Lozej from ZRC-SAZU and Diego Rinallo from Kedge Business School presented AlpFoodway as a vantage point to observe Alpine foodways, safeguarding and valorisation activities, as well as a means of involving communities across national borders in order to support an inscription of Alpine foodways in the UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
