On 13 July, a seminar was held at Milan’s Politecnico as the occasion to present the students’ projects on the transformation of the former Italcementi site in Borgo San Dalmazzo. The seminar followed an intensive 2-weeks design workshop, in which four interdisciplinary teams of Architecture and Spatial Planning students elaborated their ideas for the site reactivation, based on the impressions of the site visit (27 June) and the exchange with local stakeholders about regional development challenges. At the seminar, the projects were discussed by the Politecnico scientific team together with the trAILs project coordinator (from the Technical University of Munich) and two spatial planners from the University of Bergamo, a trAILs observer. The projects will be used as test-design base in the next project workshop, which will take place in Borgo San Dalmazzo on 25-26-27 September 2019.
