From 9th to 10th January 2020, Technology Park Ljubljana (TPLJ) hosted Circular4.0 partners‘ meeting, which encourages the transition of companies to a circular economy (CE) in the Alpine region through the processes of digital transformation.
Fifteen partners are working in the project, with Tehnološki park Ljubljana from Slovenia as the Lead partner of the project. Other collaborating project partners are: Technische Hochschule Rosenheim, Wirtschaftsservice Gesellschaft GmbH, Innovations- und Technologietransfer Salzburg GmbH, Wirtschaftsagentur GmbH, Veneto Innovazione S.p.A, Grand E-nov , Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Entreprises , Institut Jo┼żef Stefan, Fondazione Torino Wireless , Confindustria Bergamo , Camera di Commercio Industria Artigianato e Agricoltura di Venezia Rovigo, Trägerverein, Umwelttechnologie-, Cluster Bayern e.V., RISINGSUD – Agence de développement économique de la région Sud Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur, bwcon GmbH.
Inside CIRCULAR4.there are also twenty-three observers from five Alpine Space countries, such as: Austria, Germany, France, Italy, and Slovenia.
The project started at the beginning of October 2019 and it will last until end of March 2022. Circular4.0 is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund via Interreg Alpine Space.
Circular4.0 objective is to improve the Alpine eco-system of innovation and to contribute to the transition to circular economy in the Alpine area by SMEs and economic operators, exploiting the potential and the added value of the digitalization processes by SMEs.
Transnational working groups will work during the whole project with the aim to promote the implementation of the circular economy with the help of digital technologies that will enable the faster transition of SMEs.
Through the project a set of tools will be developed and tested in three ways: the circular design model, optimal use model, value recovery model.
Circular4.0 wants to increase the knowledge and raise the awareness of SMEs, policy makers, intermediaries on the circular economy with contribution of Industry4.0
