The Slovenian ATLAS project partner Posoški razvojni center - Soča Valley Development Centre has recently concluded a four month-long consultancy / educational module for retrofitting historical buildings. The main goal of the 40-hour training was to help the building owners preserve the cultural identity of their houses, taking into consideration also the energy performance aspect.

12 participants consulted energy experts and attended lectures on architecture, landscape architecture and heritage. In the practical part, the participants worked on their concrete examples individually. The training was concluded with an excursion to the Tolminske ravne village that was comprehensively renovated after the earthquake in 1998 and has preserved its typical local identity.

The group successfully finished the educational module by submitting their renovation projects to the mentor. All participants agreed that this kind of training during the first steps of retrofitting proved to be crucial for a quality renovation as well as a very good experience.

The consultancy work is part of the ATLAS Work Package 4.
