The National Institute of Public Health in Slovenia (NIJZ) as project partner of The Alpine Space Transnational Governance of Active and Healthy Ageing (ASTAHG) project, co-financed by the European Union via Interreg Alpine Space, is organizing an international conference, bringing together key stakeholders to share knowledge and discuss the challenges and solutions to improve the quality of life of older people in remote areas.

We would like to invite you to attend the conference entitled: SUPPORTING OLDER PEOPLE IN REMOTE AREAS IN THE TIME OF COVID19 which will take place online on Wednesday 2nd December 2020.

With the proportion of older adults increasing, active and healthy ageing (AHA) policies are being promoted in several Alpine Space (AS) regions. Authorities from different sectors should coordinate their efforts and work with private organizations, local authorities and researchers to address the topic as effectively as possible. The ASTAHG event will provide information on the challenges of designing, implementing and evaluating public policies in remote areas.

Furthermore, older people have been greatly impacted by the COVID-19 emergency. Even though they have witnessed various drastic changes during their lifetime, the current epidemic has created unprecedented and unexpected hardships. The aim of the conference is to present experiences and good practices already promoted in the past months to address this health crisis.

The ASTAHG event will include also the 3rd meeting of the Transnational Governance Board (TGB), that will focus on the innovative solutions for AHA in response to COVID19.

During the conference various challenges will be highlighted with the help of experts from different fields and effective solutions for improving the quality of life of older people in remote areas will be illustrated.

We look forward to welcoming you to the conference. Due to limitations on the number of participants please make sure you register by November 25 at the following link

No one can win this challenge alone and no one must be left behind.

Together we can do more!
