In order to help SME's who want to go digital, innovate their businesses, or who perhaps have original ideas but do not quite know how to finance them, the partners of BE-READI ALPS organised an “Ideas Factory”, an online event that took place on May 19th 2021.

The speakers held extensive and inspiring speeches to tackle misconceptions and issues regarding innovation, funding and digitalization. The aim of Ideas Factory was in fact to clear participants’ doubts and give them concrete information, possibilities and advice. Speakers were therefore also available for questions in case participants needed more specifical support.

The event was divided into two main parts: the morning block, with several interventions held in the English language, and the afternoon block, where interactive workshops took place in parallel, some of them in Italian or German.

Speakers who gave their contribution in the morning included Maximilian Backenstos, founder of the Munich start-up company DatenBerg, who listed and dispelled several myths regarding data and digital transformation; Senior Talent and Reward Advisor Sara dal Farra, who spoke about managing HR to encourage innovation; Rafael Michaelczuk, founder and owner of InnoPotentials, who addressed questions like “is my idea really innovative?” and “what are the first steps towards financing”; Philip Frankl from Fortiss who guided us through the procedure of digital transformation of SMEs through Open Calls; and, last but not least, Mario Weikenkas who gave us insight on how to find partnering opportunities through the Enterprise Europe Network.

The afternoon block was just as full of interesting contributions as the morning one: it started with Erich Pichler talking about Design Thinking, continued with parallel sessions, the first of which featured Andrea Kindler and Riccardo Valletti, respectively talking about Technical Assistance Service offered by the Austrian Promotion Research Agency and about data strategy and integration in regards to AI.

The second parallel session included Andrea Boscaro explaining how technology and psychology affect e-commerce and Julian Müller talking about digital transformation of business models and value chains, whereas the last workshops were led by  talking about corporate foresight and Mauro Andriotto sharing his expertise on digital listing, crowdfunding and IPO.

This inspiring and stimulating event took place thanks to the collaboration between many different partners such as Veneto Innovazione; UnionCamere del Veneto; ITALCAM, Italian-German Chamber of Commerce, Standortagentur Tirol and Bozen Chamber of Commerce who collaborated and contributed to find speakers and organise the event so that the main issues and concerns faced by SMEs in the Alpine Space would be addressed.
