Valorisation of innovative bio-economical potentials along bio-based food & botanical extract value chains in the Alpine Space

Work package T1: Value Chain Analysis

Work package T1 aims mapping and assessing three value chains (VC): for apples, walnuts and herbs in the Alpine Space.

First, a criteria plan is drawn up for the analysis of the three VCs. Secondly, a market screening of these three VCs is carried out and exemplarily examined for active substances and analysed for key actors as well as innovation gaps, partners, measures and political interventions under bioeconomic aspects. Finally, we show areas with bioeconomic potentials and applications of apple, walnut and herb VCs.

Based on this knowledge we develop a standardised replicable roadmap for analysing bio-based value chains and potentials in the Alpine Regions.
