At the UN and European level AlpLinkBioEco objectives align with the Bio Economy Strategy, specifically the European Bioeconomy Alliance (EUBA) objectives “to mobilise opinion leaders with a view to mainstreaming bioeconomy as viable and accepted alternative” for the fossil-fuel based economy. In addition, AlpLinkBioEco is a pan-European initiative to advance the Bio-Based Industry (BBI) objectives.
Significant synergies are established at the regional, macro-regional and European level. Many synergies are created between project partners (PPs) on a regional level, as bio-based economy is part of many regional Smart Specialisation Strategies. At a regional level: Poly4EmI (Slovenia) or Plastic InnoCentre (BW); at a macro regional level with previous Central Europe and Alpine Space projects (CLUSTRAT; TRANSALP). Further synergies exist with ongoing bio-based economy projects in the Danube region (Made in Danube; DanuBioValNet).
