4 GUIDELINES ON HOW TO LOWER CARBON FOOTPRINT AND INCREASE ENERGY EFFICIENCY FOR BIOMASS USERS
These guidelines were developed within the BB-Clean project to provide assistance for the biomass user. Focus of all 4 guidelines is reduction of dust emissions (PM – particulate matter) when heating with biomass.The correct selection and storage as well as condition of the fuel has a significant effect on the fine particles emission. Moreover, the correct lighting of the stove has a positive effect too. And if you are an owner of an old heating system, you should think about partial renewal or full replacement. 8 partners of the BB-Clean project, from 5 Countries of the Alpine Macro-region, worked together to develop a proposal of a shared strategy to support a sustainable use of biomass for domestic heating. The aim of BB-Clean project was to minimize the negative impact of biomass burning on air quality, human health and climate change, and fostering a better use of local resources towards the increase of energy self-sufficiency. This brochure is project's final publication, a description of 5 workpackages as project progressed towards its goals and objectives, each workpackage bringing its specific contribution towards fulfilment of the project's final aim.
