Alessandro Betta from Comune di Trento spent a week in Munich to take a closer look at the challenges of the city.
In spite of some differences many of the challenges regarding open spaces management and development are very similar and therefore it was extremely useful to share experiences and approaches especially regarding daily activities.
Alessandros conclusion is:"In addition to the more technical issues such as the choice of planting species which follows very different paths in the two cities, the city of Trento gained important insights on the management approaches of Munich. Both the design and maintenance of the areas are more 'open' and 'flexible'. This could help to improve management schemes towards more resilient solutions. I think it is very important, especially in planning and territorial development departments, to have a proper understanding with the political referents of the city, too."
