The 10th of July 2018 the Piemonte Region met some of the municipalities that, in the framework of the PEACE_Alps project, have joined the daily monitoring service of the energy consumption of their public buildings. This is an quite innovative activity, as since it exploits the new potential provided by electronic gas meters.

Piemonte region exchange meetings with energy agency of Liguria Region and Province of Trento
The Piemonte Region, in the framework of the best practices exchange programme foreseen by PEACE_Alps project, has organized a series of meetings with two energy agencies very active in the area of the Alpine Space: IRE Liguria and APRIE Province of Trento. Each of them was focused on one of the specific topics of PEACE_Alps.
Adapt and reduce impacts - PEACE_Alps exchange program discusses requirements for local climate change survey
Never before was the accumulation of new polar ice lower than in winter 2017/18. Since ice belongs to the crucial factors influencing the climate system, this is alarming news underpinning the significance of the topic “climate change”. As a part of the Alpine Space Project PEACE_Alps, two district administrations focused on the subject and discussed necessary adaptation measures.
PEACE_Alps meets GoApply
Adaptation to climate change was the focus of the expert workshop held in Kempten in the Allgäu, Germany on 6th of June 2018. Based on practical experiences regarding health management, species diversity within urban areas, agriculture and flood control, the actual challenges of adaptation were discussed.
EUSEW Award for PEACE_Alps
Already quite happy to be among the finalists of the European Sustainable Energy Awards 2018, the PEACE_Alps project team was very proud to win this prestigious prize in the category “public sector”. Project lead partner Silvio De Nigris and Barbara Girardi from Regione Piemonte were on stage on 5. June 2018 in the Charlemagne Building in Brussels, to receive the decoration from the hands of Miguel Arias Cañete, Commissioner for Climate Action and Energy.
