Alpine Industrial Landscapes Transformation

  • Study visit to L'Argentière-la-Bessée/La-Roche-de-Rame

The third project pilot is in L'Argentière-la-Bessée/La-Roche-de-Rame, France. Project partners worked there on the transformation of the former aluminium and steel foundry plants in L'Argentière-la-Bessée. They also visit former calcium-metal plant in la Roche de Rame Join us “on-site” in this video report!

  • Borgo San Dalmazzo Transformation Scenarios

The transformation of the disused cement industry landscape Borgo San Dalmazzo and surroundings was the focus of design courses at the Technical University of Munich (landscape architecture) and Polytechnic University of Milan (architecture and urban planning). The students projects, which are based on trAILs materials (thematic assessments) and integrated by on site analyses performed by the students themselves, comprise a wide spectrum of potential future scenarios for the Italcementi site and the surrounding valley landscape, from the productive reuse of the existing spaces towards the ecological-oriented re-naturalization.

  • Virtual site visit in Tržič (SLO pilot)

On the 18th and 19th June the trAILs team met online to join “virtually” the site visit of the Slovenian pilot site, the former BPT textile mill in Tržič. On the first day, the site and the region were briefly presented to the team by representatives of the regional partner BSC Kranj. A detailed tour of the site and surroundings was then provided through a 15’ video, which included interviews to local stakeholders and community members involved in the site transformation.

  • Turning remote: successful!

This morning we planned the next activities on the Slovenian pilot site, which will be completed by next September!

  • Study visit to Borgo San Dalmazzo
