Active participation of local populations in decision making processes is very important. The close cooperation between public administration, civil society, and other stakeholders is not only needed, but it is essential.
The workshop, which will take place on September 27th, 2017 in Ljubljana and organised by the SPARE Project partners from the Institute for Water of the Republic of Slovenia, will tackle the poor involvement of local populations with examples of good practices presented by a range of invited experts from abroad.
In order for the workshop to be successful, five Alpine river basins will be studied in detail as and their organisational structures being established for more active involvement and participation of civil society.
