On 13th June 2018 the Climate and Energy Funds and the Federal Ministry of Sustainability and Tourism have jointly announced that 20 climate adaptation model regions will receive further funding by the KLAR! Programme for climate change adaptation model regions in Austria. Over the last year, the regions have worked on agenda-setting and awareness-raising and have elaborated regional adaptation concepts. During the next two years, the 20 regions are going to implement in total 218 local adaptation measures tackling a broad range of regional climate change impacts and sectors.

KLAR! is a Europe-wide unique funding programme that supports Austrian regions and municipalities in taking preventive action to cope with the manifold consequences of climate change. A service platform, implemented by the Environment Agency Austria and the Austrian meteorological service ZAMG on behalf of the Climate and Energy Funds, provides expertise, advice and customized information to all model regions and organizes regular peer-learning and networking workshops.

The detailed adaptation concepts of all model regions are available at the website of the KLAR! service platform: http://klar-anpassungsregionen.at/
