On 13th June 2019 Ljubljana hosted its sharing event, which also represented a formal closure of the AlpSib project in Slovenia.
The event started with 2 opening speeches. First, Ms Karin Žvokelj from the Ministry of Economic Development and Technology welcomed all present and discussed the Ministry's view of the social impact bonds and the initial steps he Ministry is about to take in this field. Followed, Ms Lilijana Madjar, director of the Regional Development Agency of the Ljubljana Urban Region addressed the participants and stressed that social impact bonds are interesting financial instruments, which need to be thoroughly studied and should complement but not substitute welfare states of the Alpine Space.
The event continued with the presentation of the status of Social Economy in the European Union, given by Mr Primož Šporar, director of Sklad05 and member of the Economic and Social Committee. Afterwards, Mr Damjan Kavaš from the Slovenian Economic Institute presented findings and achievements of the AlpSib project.
The event ended with the round table, which tried to answer the question of how suitable social impact bonds are for Slovenian environment and which topics could be tackled implying them.
