Apr 30, 2025

On May 12th and 13th in Salzburg, Austria, a major exhibition will take place to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the European Interreg Alpine Space program, which funds cooperation projects among the seven Alpine countries.

Alpine Space addresses common challenges and improves the quality of life for the region’s 80 million inhabitants, targeting public authorities at national, regional, and local levels, higher education institutions, as well as businesses, business support organizations, NGOs, and associations.

Over the years, Alpine Space has supported around 180 projects, involving more than 2,000 public and private organizations, promoting transnational solutions on issues such as climate change, circular economy, energy, innovation and digitalization, and the implementation of macro-regional strategies.

In Salzburg, there will be a dedicated stand for ALPHA (“Advancing 5th-Generation District Heating and Cooling Networks in Alpine Space”), the project aiming to contribute to the reduction of climate-altering emissions and to increase energy efficiency through the use of 5th-generation district heating and cooling networks in the Alpine regions of Italy, Austria, Germany, France, and Slovenia.
