I-SWAMP making the news on the World Wetlands Day

On February 2nd 1971 more than 150 world countries signed the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands of International Importance. February 2nd has become the World Wetlands Day, to celebrate the importance of wetland biodiversity.

Wetlands are a highly diverse group of habitats, distinguished by regularly or permanently waterlogged soil. Rivers and streams, lakes and ponds, peatlands and wet prairies, swamps and marshes are all wetlands: fragile habitats, but essential to biodiversity and societies.

I-SWAMPS project is meant to protect and restore small wetland habitats in the Alpine region. Today, two articles about us were published on important news websites (in Italian):
