Pilot reports on past and future weather extremes now available

Jul 23, 2025

We are pleased to announce that the Pilot reports on past and future weather extremes have now been published! These reports provide a comprehensive analysis of extreme weather events across our pilot areas, offering valuable insights into past trends and future projections under climate change.

As part of Work package 1 (WP1), the reports serve as a crucial knowledge resource for risk managers, practitioners, and analysts working to enhance climate resilience in the Alpine region.

The reports include:

  • Key messages and main findings
  • Analysis of past extreme weather events
  • Typical meteorological conditions leading to extremes
  • Expected changes in frequency and intensity of future events
  • Methodology and data sources

You can find the reports on the project website under the “Outcomes” tab → 1st outcome: Digital library on past and future weather extremes across the AS, including the webGIS platform and the tailored studies for the pilots – How to exploit the new knowledge and data for practice.

These findings contribute to a stronger understanding of climate risks, supporting informed decision-making and adaptation strategies in the Alpine region.
