On 11 December 2025, the Regional Development Agency of the Ljubljana Urban Region (RRA LUR) participated in the meeting of the SI.Bio – National Bioeconomy Hub, held at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia. The event marked a key milestone for future actions, reinforcing structured stakeholder cooperation and active engagement within the Slovenian bioeconomy ecosystem.
As partner of the National Bioeconomy Hub SI.Bio, RRA LUR actively contributed to discussions and knowledge exchange, strengthening connections with stakeholders and laying the groundwork for coordinated, action-oriented development.
This engagement represents a vital foundation for the next phase of activities planned for February and March 2026, when RRA LUR, together with JZ KP Ljubljansko barje, will implement focus lab events and pilot actions within the DIVERSE project and the Slovenian pilot. A broad range of stakeholders, as well as other interested parties, will be invited to actively participate in these focus labs, ensuring inclusive dialogue and practical co-creation.
The upcoming activities will focus on the financially viable and sustainable utilization of late-mown grass biomass in protected areas, addressing the challenge of cost-effective energy production while preserving habitat biodiversity. Through continued stakeholder engagement, the process will tackle key barriers such as limited infrastructure and data, policy alignment issues, and technical and financial constraints—transforming collaboration into concrete, future-oriented action.
