After the inauguration of the Smart Lab on 6 March (see news) at the Water Portal at the Villaggio del Ragazzo in Cogorno the first didactic workshop was held on 19th May for four eighth-grade classes of the Istituto Comprensivo di Cogorno.
This experimental activity integrates and enriches the educational offer through an innovative and multidisciplinary approach, telling a new story linked to innovation and the possibility for many youngsters to live an experience that combines the use of new technologies with the territory, the environment, sustainability and the development of attractive tourist potential in the municipalities of the Fontanabuona Valley.
The field experience aims to stimulate in the students the spirit of research, design skills, creativity and cooperative work, while at the same time helping to strengthen curricular learning.
Two immersive experiences were realised :
– a first one of a video-ludic type which, through the use of a web app, helps the students to reflect on their interests and ambitions, supporting them in choosing the educational and professional pathway most suited to their aspirations;
– a second one based on experiential learning, based on the principle of learning by doing, where students are immersed in real processes through content that can be used in virtual reality.
The use of 360° videos, visible through dedicated viewers, allows for a unique, immersive and highly interactive experience, much more effective than traditional videos in conveying knowledge and stimulating active participation.
