Virtual workshop for Developing a Common LCA Methodology as regards to food products

In our first virtual workshop we started to work on developing a Common LCA Methodology, our expert partner is Austrian Institute of Ecology

Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) is a method used to assess the environmental impacts of a product or service throughout its entire life cycle, from raw material extraction to disposal. Developing a common LCA methodology for food products is important as it enables consistent and comparable environmental assessments across the food industry.

Here are some questions that we need to address and think about in order to develop a common Alpine-wide LCA methodology for food products:

What is already out there? (Many LCA methodologies exist)
Do we need to focus on a specific product category?
How are the LCA data structured? What are the determinants included?
How do the different countries involved differ in data availability, reliability?
