---------------------------
Within our HumanFactor training, we create a common ground for navigating the HumanFactor universe. We shed light on the implementation gap in sustainable transformation processes and develop new perspectives on how the human factor shapes dynamics—both as a challenge and as key to the solution. In the training, we consistently combine theory with practice: We test the framework and tools we’ve developed, reflect on their application, and apply them directly to the cases you bring. Our goal is that by the end of the day, you will not only be familiar with the concepts but will also have concrete, feasible ideas for your own projects.
Module 1: Orientation – What is HumanFactor all about?
We’ll start with an analysis of the sustainability dilemma and the importance of the human factor in our sustainability and transformation topics:
- Brief Overview: How is sustainable behavior shaped by psychological, social, and cultural influences? What is meant with the attitude-behavior gap, cognitive dissonance, and other technical terms?
- Application: What specific barriers can be observed in your own case studies? Where is action needed?
- Discussion: What experiences have the participants had so far, and where have they encountered difficulties?
Module 2: HumanFactor Compass #1 – Understanding behaviour
With Compass #1, HumanFactor provides a guide to help understand where relevant target groups and stakeholders stand and how their behaviour can be understood:
- Brief Overview: Presentation of Compass #1: How do capability, environment, and motivation influence sustainable behaviour, and what insights emerge from this analysis?
- Exercise: Deepening your understanding of the three dimensions of Compass #1: Capability, Environment, Motivation
- Application: Work with Compass #1 as a guide to your own case: Do the people involved in my case have the necessary capabilities? Does the environment provide the right framework? What drives the people or holds them back?
- Discussion: Peer case consultation and discussion of the results of the application
Module 3: HumanFactor Compass #2 – Designing Processes
The second HumanFactor Compass further provides an in-depth framework for designing “human-centered” processes. How can processes be designed in a way that works with people rather than against them? How does this differ from traditional and agile project management?
- Brief Overview: Compass #2 Presentation: What role do a shared understanding and a shared sense of purpose play in the process? How can stakeholders be meaningfully engaged? What requirements does the HumanFactor process place on team structure, process design, framework conditions, and communication?
- Exercise: Getting to know and understanding the dimensions of Compass #2
- Application of Compass #2: Diagnostic clinic for your own cases: Where are we already well-positioned, and where do we need to catch up?
- Discussion: Peer case consultation on your own processes
Module 4: Deep Dive Compass #2 – Exploring and applying individual dimensions
In the final module, participants will have the opportunity to explore and apply individual dimensions of Compass #2 in greater depth. Our selection of tools will be guided by the participants’ challenges and needs.
- Brief Overview: Insights into the resources and tools we provide to support a deeper exploration of the dimensions of Compass #2
- Applying Resources: Through short exercises, we put the resources and tools directly into practice, e.g., to better understand the initial situation and the challenge.
- Identifying Next Steps: The application process generates ideas for next steps and further collaborative work within our HumanFactor Community of Practice.
