BAUHALPS Presented at DFS wirkt! Conference in Vienna

Dec 24, 2025

Following the BAUHALPS partner meeting held in Vienna on 16–17 December 2025, the project was also presented at DFS wirkt! – Results 2025, the annual closing event organised by Digital Findet Stadt.

The BAUHALPS project was presented by Sonja Geier, from Hochschule Luzern, within the conference programme dedicated to digitalisation, sustainability and innovation in the construction and real estate sector. Her presentation, titled “BAUHALPS – Circular Time Lab: Living Lab for Circular Construction in the Alpine Region”, highlighted the project’s objectives, tools and its contribution to circular building practices across the Alpine Space.

The DFS wirkt! conference brought together experts from research, industry and public institutions to present selected results from ongoing projects and to discuss future challenges and opportunities related to digital planning, construction and building operation. The programme covered topics such as BIM and sustainability, circular economy, construction automation, artificial intelligence and the use of satellite data in construction. In this context, BAUHALPS was presented as a concrete example of how digital tools, circularity and place-based approaches can be combined to support the green transformation of the building sector.

Both the BAUHALPS partner meeting and the DFS wirkt! conference took place at the Co-Innovation Factory in Vienna. Located in a former industrial bakery building, the Co-Innovation Factory has been carefully renovated to preserve its historic character while integrating modern, flexible and sustainable design solutions. With over 1,000 m² of modular spaces for workshops, meetings and events, the venue encourages collaboration, creativity and community engagement.

The transformation of the Co-Innovation Factory represents a strong example of New European Bauhaus values, demonstrating how existing buildings can be adaptively reused by combining respect for heritage with innovative architectural approaches and sustainable use. As such, it provided an inspiring and highly appropriate setting for both the BAUHALPS partner meeting and the DFS conference.

The presentation of BAUHALPS at DFS wirkt! further strengthened the project’s visibility within the Digital Findet Stadt network and underlined the relevance of the project’s results for ongoing discussions on digitalisation, circularity and sustainability in the built environment.
