On October 1st, the Circular Lunch event in Bolzano marked the conclusion of the Interreg Alpine Space project CEFoodCycle, highlighting two years of progress in promoting circular economy practices in South Tyrol’s food sector. Stakeholders from business, science, and policy gathered to reflect on achievements, share insights, and shape future strategies.
Key speakers, including project lead Petra Untermarzoner and sustainability expert Andreas Loacker, emphasized the importance of collaboration and innovation. Inspiring examples from local startups and companies demonstrated how circular business models are already being successfully implemented.
The event also featured contributions from professors at the Free University of Bozen, showcasing how food technology and design can drive sustainable transformation. A workshop invited participants to co-develop the 2026 Circular Economy Strategy, which will be integrated into IDM Südtirol’s long-term food strategy. The Circular Lunch affirmed South Tyrol’s commitment to becoming a leading region for sustainable living and circular innovation.
