In the splendid setting of the Teatrino Civico di Chivasso, on June 30, 2025, the regional event was held to share and discuss the increasingly topical issue of climate change, promoted by iiSBE Italia R&D and the Municipality of Chivasso, its pilot case study in the Interreg Alpine Space project ADAPTNOW.
The seminar was interspersed with contributions from prominent speakers in the field of urban planning and climate adaptation; the works were, in fact, opened by Mayor Claudio Castello who, together with Deputy Mayor Pasquale Centin, argued about the goal of the city of Chivasso in strengthening the climate resilience of its territory through the revision of the General Urban Plan.
The technical interventions were given by Andrea Moro and Elena Bazzan of iiSBE Italia, partners in the ADAPTNOW project which aims to improve climate adaptation in the territories of the Alps. The issue of urban planning of the City of Chivasso was subsequently explored by the PRGC designer Gian Carlo Paglia and by the manager of the Territorial Government Sector Fabio Mascara.
“Knowledge, governance and planning: the future of cities between climate change and urban innovation” was the main theme of the final debate held by the Rector of the Polytechnic Stefano Paolo Corgnati, the Councillor for Urban Planning of the Piedmont Region Marco Gallo, the Councillor delegated to strategic planning of the Metropolitan City Sonia Cambursano, the President of the Order of Architects Roberta Ingaramo, the President of the Order of Architects Roberta Ingaramo, the President of the Order of Architects President of the Order of Engineers Giuseppe Andrea Ferro and the councilor of the Order of Geologists Mauro Castelletto.
With the awareness that the climate has changed, this moment of discussion represented a synergistic and choral response between institutions capable of activating the transition of the territory towards the challenges posed by climate change.
