DiMark Project Featured at 25th Anniversary Interreg Alpine Space Celebration in Salzburg

May 16, 2025

One of the DiMark members participated in the 25th Anniversary celebration of the Interreg Alpine Space programme, held from May 12–14 in Salzburg Congress.

This milestone event brought together stakeholders from across the Alpine region to celebrate 25 years of successful transnational cooperation, featuring interesting keynotes, engaging workshops, and new funding opportunities.

A particularly exciting moment for DiMark came during the breakout session titled  »Leveraging AI to protect and preserve the Alpine ecosystem« led by  Sarah Stemmler, AI Expert, co-founder and managing director of synsugar GmbH.

The DiMark project was showcased as an example of how predictive modeling can be used to forecast cyanobacterial bloom risks and support the development of online visualization tools. These tools aim to help stakeholders make data-informed decisions to improve the water management of Alpine water bodies.

As we continue to share our work to a wider community, we’re preparing for the first DiMark workshop with stakeholders next week, on May 23, 2025, which will feature presentations on the use of Earth Observation (EO) and satellite data, overview of cyano-risk prevention model and more.
