COMMONAIR partner meeting in presence – Basel 06-07 Nov 2025.
Two productive days of knowledge and experience sharing took place in Switzerland on 6–7 November. ZHAW (Zurich University of Applied Sciences), as a partner of the COMMONAIR project, hosted the first in-person partner meeting marking the end of the project’s first period.
In addition to updates on the ongoing project activities, participants were introduced to several Swiss programmes and research initiatives focusing on microclimatic studies and climate change mitigation and adaptation in the Alps, with particular reference to the cities of Zurich, Basel and Bern.
Regarding the COMMONAIR project, partners shared insights on microclimatic measurement campaigns and on activities aimed at increasing climate-related knowledge among citizens and target groups. Strategies for citizen science engagement and co-mapping activities were a central topic of discussion.
The meeting also laid the groundwork for future work on co-designing governance models, which will be a key focus of the project’s second period.
