Removing invasive species at I-SWAMP project sites in the Karawanke UNESCO Global Geopark!

Within the framework of the project activities in the frame of Interreg Alpine Space Project I-SWAMP, the Karawanken-Karavanke UNESCO Global Geopark, together with an external expert E.C.O. Institute of Ecology, began the removal of invasive plant species (Solidago sp., bamboo, etc.) at project sites in the Municipality of Lavamünd and at Pirkdorfer See (see a video here).

The Summer class of Philip Kueschnig of the Lavamünd primary school participated in the removal of bamboo at a site in the same municipality, along the Drava river.

Activities in other sites will follow in the coming days and weeks!
