RRA Podravje – Maribor participated in the event “It’s Good to Live – in the Alps”, held at the Cultural Center in Črna na Koroškem. The aim of the meeting was to present the challenges and opportunities of quality living in the Alpine region and to promote sustainable development in line with the principles of the Alpine Convention.
The event was opened by the Mayor of Črna na Koroškem, Mag. Romana Lesjak, followed by speeches from Alenka Smerkolj, Secretary General of the Alpine Convention, and Uroš Rozman, Director of RRA Koroška.
As part of the program, various projects contributing to the improvement of quality of life in the Alps were presented. The project OUT4INGOV – Promoting Innovation in Youth Migration Management Policies was presented by Dr. Amna Potočnik, project leader (RRA Podravje – Maribor), who highlighted the importance of involving young people in shaping local policies and exchanging best practices between regions.
The event also included a roundtable discussion, “How Good Is It to Live in the Alps?”, where participants discussed challenges and opportunities to enhance the quality of life in Alpine communities. The discussion was led by representatives of the Alpine Convention, local authorities, research institutions, and regional development agencies.
