On 26 November 2025, our project partners Rebecca Chizzola (Agency for Civil Protection, Province of Bolzano) and Wolfgang Lexer (Austrian Environmental Agency) actively contributed to the EUSALP Annual Forum 2025 in Innsbruck. Both participated in the workshop “Enhancing Climate Change Adaptation through cross-project policy recommendations and pilot actions in the Alps” as presenters and panel debaters.
The workshop was jointly organised by EUSALP Action Group 8 (AG8) and several associated Interreg Alpine Space projects, including X-RISK-CC, ADAPTNOW, MOSAIC, and Forest EcoValue.
The session brought together researchers, public authorities, practitioners, and policymakers from across the Alpine region to strengthen climate change adaptation capacities at regional and local levels. With a strong focus on multi-level governance, participants explored how common challenges can be addressed through aligned policy recommendations and practical pilot actions.
The workshop showcased the transnational policy recommendations developed by AG8 and the associated Interreg projects, using them as a common thread to:
- highlight concrete results and lessons learned,
- present effective and scalable pilot actions developed within the projects,
- link these actions to ongoing policy discussions within AG8.
X-RISK-CC contributed insights from its work on climate risk management, focusing on improving preparedness for extreme and compound events in the Alpine region.
