The Project Ends. The Journey Continues!

Jul 16, 2026

This is the final post from the MOSAIC project on this website. The project has now entered its official closure phase, which took effect on 30 April.

Throughout its lifetime, the MOSAIC consortium successfully brought together local and regional authorities, public administrations, research institutions, and numerous field practitioners around a shared conviction: preventing natural hazards and adapting to climate change are, above all, collective endeavours built on knowledge sharing, dialogue, and innovation in support of Alpine territories.

One of the key conclusions of our work is that the challenges posed by natural hazards, climate change and the resilience of Alpine regions call, more than ever, for spaces that foster cooperation, dialogue, facilitation and the exchange of knowledge.

The three key outputs developed by MOSAIC provide a practical and operational response to these needs. Together, they offer a solid foundation for sharing knowledge and supporting territorial stakeholders working on forest-based solutions for natural hazard prevention.

The MOSAIC Web Atlas is one of the project’s flagship tools for knowledge sharing. To ensure its long-term value, the Web Atlas will remain available for at least the next five years and will continue to offer users the opportunity to contribute data freely through a dedicated submission form.

From now on, the project’s LinkedIn and Facebook pages will take over from this website to promote the Web Atlas and keep the community informed about its future developments.
