The circular economy is based on the idea that materials and building components should be reused, repaired, and recycled instead of being thrown away. Its main goal is to reduce waste and keep resources in use for as long as possible. This principle begins already in the design and planning phase of products and buildings and continues throughout the entire life cycle of a construction project.

The circular economy innovation map presents various completed projects related to recycling, reusing materials, and dismantling buildings in a sustainable way. Through the Expert Network section, users can directly connect with specialists and companies involved in these projects, making it easier to find suitable experts and partners in their local area.

The interactive innovation map provides an overview of sustainable construction projects located across Europe. The projects are grouped into different categories, including housing, tourism and leisure, office and industrial buildings, sports and culture, education and health, and other sectors. Colored markers and numbers on the map indicate how many projects are concentrated in a specific region.

An important feature of the platform is the filtering system, which allows users to customize the displayed results according to selected categories or project types. By applying filters, users can focus only on projects that match their interests, such as educational buildings, housing developments, or industrial facilities. This makes the map easier to navigate and helps users quickly compare projects from different regions and sectors.

The platform therefore serves as a useful tool for exploring innovative and sustainable construction practices and for finding inspiration from real examples implemented across Europe.
