Waterwise project partners – Université de Neuchatel

Mar 4, 2025

The University of Neuchâtel is the project leader of Waterwise and provides key expertise through its Centre for Hydrogeology and Geothermics (CHYN), an institution at the forefront of hydrogeology research. With state-of-the-art research infrastructure, including hydrogeophysical instruments, chemistry laboratories, and extensive computing facilities, CHYN is well-positioned to contribute to the project’s implementation.

UNINE leads the scientific committee and focuses on developing algorithms for climate and hydrological data processing, as well as designing a modeling strategy to assess the impacts of climate change scenarios on hydrological systems. Once finalized, the team will use this toolbox to analyze results across all pilot sites and make them accessible to project partners organizing stakeholder workshops. UNINE will also actively participate in the transnational governance workshop that FEM and Legambiente Piemonte and Val d’Aosta will organize at the final phase of the project.

Odile de la Rue du Can and Ronny Figueroa are actively involved in the project as part of their doctoral studies. Dr. Landon Halloran, a senior scientist, brings expertise in geophysics and alpine hydrogeology, while Dr. Clément Roques, a senior scientist in hydrology, serves as the scientific and general coordinator of the Waterwise project.
