First Meeting with the Cembra Valley Community

Sep 2, 2025

On June 25, 2025, the first meeting of the Interreg Alpine Space OUT4INGOV project was held at the Municipality of Altavalle. The meeting involved the Territorial Cohesion Office of the APT (Provincial Tourism Agency) of Trentino. the territorial coordinator who will support the municipalities, and representatives of the municipalities and the Cembra Valley Community. The meeting was attended by 15 people, including representatives of the municipalities of Altavalle, Giovo, Lona-Lases, Cembra Lisignago, Sover, Segonzano, Albiano, and the Cembra Valley Community, who expressed great interest in the project proposal.

The OUT4INGOV project addresses the growing phenomenon of migration of young people, who grew up in the Alpine region, from less attractive and developed areas to other European regions. The Cembra Valley, particularly affected by this phenomenon, will be the pilot area for the experiment.

What was the objective of the meeting? To form a group of approximately 30 young people represented by members of all interested municipalities, including at least 15-18 residents abroad and 10-12 local residents. The group will develop and test a new shared governance model, based on a network that will enable networking and the development of the skills of local and migrant youth.

The next steps will be, after community participants have been identified during the summer of 2025:
– From September 2025: Development of an online platform to define the network’s structure and rules
– January 2026: Launch of field testing

Collaboration with the municipalities will be crucial, especially through the participation of youth policy councilors and the local youth coordinator in local events, to disseminate the project and actively engage young people.

The initiative aims to create lasting connections, also with a view to future sustainability, in synergy with the local Youth Plans.
