Description
What?
In a constantly challenging and changing world, it takes more than positive thought and determination to flourish. What does successful navigation of personal and professional career paths entail beyond ingenuity, courage, and self-knowledge? Can humans learn from examples of thrive in nature about how to perform, compete, and enjoy life with a healthy dose of drive? Reflections on these topics and more will be at the heart of Art in Motion 2025.
Why?
While the last meeting provided insight into the mechanisms of motivation and inspiration, AiM25 will widen that focus. This two-day event will question whether learning and performance strategies intended to facilitate growth and achievement are allowing individuals to thrive: by themselves, in groups, in orchestras and teams, as well as within society. This 9th Art in Motion provides a forum for researchers and practitioners to take a critical look at the drive to thrive by providing accurate-objective information about a subject matter that is often seen as elusive-intuitive.
When & where?
This in-person event, a cooperation between the University of Music and Theater Munich and the Foundation Art and Nature, will be held in Bavaria on May 16th and 17th, 2025 in Munich and Nantesbuch. With presentations and performances, papers and posters, workshops and “snacktivities,” demonstrations and exhibits, attendees will be able to actively participate and exchange ideas – to look for individualized answers without the pressure to find overall solutions or prescriptions. In essence, this will be a thought-provoking and boundary-crossing exploration of THE DRIVE TO THRIVE.
