On February 27th, Mariapina Castelli and Iacopo Ferrario led the first A-DROP stakeholder workshop in Trento, Italy, hosted by the Provincial Agency for Water Resources and Energy (APRIE).

The workshop focused on co-designing a prototype seasonal hydrological forecasting system for the Adige River basin. This innovative prototype leverages machine learning techniques to integrate new datasets, including high-resolution seasonal climate forecasts and satellite-based hydrological variables such as evapotranspiration, soil moisture, and snow water equivalent. These tools are crucial for drought risk management and climate change adaptation.

During the event, Eurac Research refined the prototype's conceptualization and assessed its potential adoption across various sectors to enhance decision-making processes.
