Forest ecosystem services and sustainable value chains in the Alpine region

On 26 March 2026, the Forest EcoValue Final Conference will take place at the Palazzo della Regione Piemonte in Turin (Italy). The event will provide the opportunity to present and discuss the main results achieved during four years of transnational cooperation within the Interreg Alpine Space project Forest EcoValue.
Bringing together policymakers, public authorities, researchers, practitioners, financial actors and key stakeholders from across the Alpine region, the conference will highlight how Forest Ecosystem Services (FES) can be effectively assessed, valued and integrated into sustainable value chains and governance frameworks.
Throughout the project, innovative economic, governance and policy-relevant approaches have been developed and tested in Alpine regions of Austria, France, Germany, Italy and Slovenia. During the conference, partners will present consolidated, evidence-based results emerging from the Living Labs and pilot areas, focusing in particular on:
- Assessment and mapping of Forest Ecosystem Services
- Economic valuation and sustainable business models
- Public–private frameworks and financing mechanisms
- Transferability, policy uptake and scalability across the Alpine region
The programme will also feature institutional remarks, thematic presentations by project partners and experts, as well as a roundtable discussion with representatives of the Alpine Convention and EUSALP on scaling up Forest Ecosystem Services in the Alpine region.
The conference will take place in person (online format is permitted) from 14:00 to 16:30 CET and participation is free of charge upon registration.
