This symposium, held in the Alpine languages German, French, Italian and Slovenian, is touching on the challenges of housing shortage in "attractive" communities and the migration of mainly young locals from small mountain villages with only little infrastructure from the point of view of the communities by asking the questions:

  • What changes in the area of "living" do communities have to deal with?
  • How can they respond to changing housing needs in order to offer their residents a high quality of life?
  • What trends will municipalities have to address in the coming years?

Furthermore, good examples from the Alpine region and beyond, as well as discussions on the topics of "vacancy management", "neighborhood and living space management" and "creating affordable housing" shall inspire the participants.

The main findings of the conference will be presented at AlpWeek in Brig in September 2022.

Deadline to indicate your participation is 15 June 2022.
