On May 20th the Adige Water Fair takes place in Eurac Research premises. This event is an opportunity to explore water management issues from multiple perspectives, including public entities, hydropower companies, irrigation and drainage consortia, drinkable water suppliers, environmental agencies, and the vibrant research community of South Tyrol, Trentino, and Veneto.
During this event all stakeholders involved in the A-DROP Pilot 5 participated in the event. Moreover, Mariapina Castelli moderates the session on data and modelling for estimating water needs and availability where the session’s future aspirations were clearly outlined:
– Treat data as a communal asset to enhance equitable, informed, and proactive water resource management.
– Garner political support to drive the willingness to share data and improve technological capabilities for precise monitoring.
– Seek inspiration from exemplary practices in standardisation, as observed in weather forecasting and power grids.
– Encourage multi-model ecosystems and modular approach, ensuring that modules and accuracy align with the modelling purpose.
